The project has been centred on two major aims:
- furthering the scientific knowledge about school evaluation;
- constructing models and materials for professional development in an international context.
The concept of school self-evaluation is based on the notion of educational quality. School quality is considered in its different dimensions according to the conceptual model of organisational effectiveness developed by Quinn and Rohrbaugh.
The educational methodological approach of the whole project is of an action- research type.
The models and materials for training courses and modules are the following:
- interactive Cd-rom of the theoretical reference framework that presents three modules: Evaluation, Culture, Leadership;
- a Catalogue that presents training courses and modules at first level and advanced level for inspectors, school-heads, teachers;
- a Catalogue that presents the case studies of the four partner countries: Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain.
